John Slaven, CEO of Vedanta Aluminium, has been selected as the International Aluminium Institute’s vice-chairman
Vedanta Aluminium recently announced that its CEO, John Slaven, has been appointed Vice-Chairman of the International Aluminium Institute (IAI). In his new role, Slaven will lead global efforts to emphasize the vital role of aluminium in achieving zero carbon energy solutions.
John Slaven remarked that aluminium has already proven itself essential in the global transition to a net zero future. He highlighted the tremendous strides made by the IAI in this area and expressed eagerness to collaborate with fellow board members and colleagues to solidify aluminium’s position as the metal of the future.
The International Aluminium Institute represents the primary aluminum industry worldwide, promoting responsible production practices and showcasing the environmental benefits of aluminium in green technologies. Its membership includes leading bauxite, alumina, and aluminium companies from around the globe.
With over three decades of experience in metals, mining, and modern manufacturing, Slaven brings a wealth of knowledge to his new position. Under his leadership, Vedanta Aluminium has become a top producer, achieving an output of 2.37 million tons in the financial year 2024. The company is also known for its value-added aluminium products, which are crucial in various key industries.
