Greaves Electric Mobility to manufacture powertrains for its EVs in Aurangabad

Greaves Electric Mobility has announced its partnership with Eta Green Power Ltd to bring advanced electric drive system technology to the Indian 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler markets. The collaboration will see Greaves receive exclusive rights to Eta Green Power’s technology and manufacture the e-powertrain suite at its Aurangabad plant with a focus on component localization.
Eta Green Power, based in the UK, designs and develops electric motors, and motor controllers with integrated battery chargers. The partnership is a step forward in Greaves Electric Mobility’s mission to build a complete electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem stack for last-mile passenger and cargo mobility. The company aims to provide sustainable transportation solutions, underpinned by global technology, to the Indian market.
Greaves Electric Mobility and Eta Green Power have teamed up to introduce technology for motors and motor controllers with integrated battery chargers for electric 2-wheelers and 3-wheelers. The partnership aims to deliver high performance and reliability at an affordable cost, accelerating the widespread adoption of electric vehicles in both the 2-wheeler and 3-wheeler segments. The first product to be released will be motor controllers and integration software for electric two- and three-wheelers.
Speaking on this partnership, Nagesh Basavanhalli, Executive Vice Chairman, Greaves Cotton Limited, said, “Greaves Electric Mobility is facilitating the transition from traditional vehicles towards a more sustainable EV ecosystem. In order to support and fast-track this transition, our partnership with Eta Green Power Ltd, a globally reputed player, will play a key role to strengthen our EV presence in the country with world-class technologies.
On its tie-up with Greaves, David Morgan, CEO, Eta Green Power Ltd, said, “India is a key market for Eta Green Power, and we are excited to partner with one of the country’s established and fastest growing emobility companies, Greaves Cotton Ltd, to expand operations in India. Eta Green Power will leverage Greaves Cotton Ltd.’s leadership position to provide world-class drive systems to the Indian market.”
