India deserves to have non-stop flights to more overseas destinations: Air India CEO

Air India CEO Campbell Wilson asserted that India needs international nonstop access to more destinations, claiming that the country has been unable to control its own destiny in some ways due to a lack of a thriving domestic airline industry.
Wilson, who is in charge of Air India’s vast fleet and route growth plans, also stated that IndiGo’s success and the merger with Tata Airlines provide an excellent challenger to IndiGo’s strength.
“It should hopefully allow for a more sustainable, ideally profitable market that will allow airlines to invest in new products, expand the network, and also lead India to assume its place on the world aviation stage,” he told PTI in an interview.
