Morenike Fajemisin – Founder/CEO Whispa Health
Whispa Health’s founder and CEO is Morenike Fajemisin. Morenike felt the need to build a company that focused on family planning, public health programs, women’s and children’s health, and employing technology to give healthcare solutions after working in the health industry as a chemist at several corporate levels.
Whispa, a smartphone app developed by her company, Whispa Health, allows anyone to privately access sexual and reproductive health information, goods, and services. Their mission is to assist young people, especially women, in managing their sexual and reproductive healthcare without shame, judgment, or stigma.
Whispa Africa’s provider of sexual health solutions, according to Fajemisin, who founded the business in Nigeria.
Morenike has received numerous honors, including the Google Black Founder Africa Award in 2021, the Bayer Women Empowerment Award in 2021, and the 2022 award/recognition for being an extraordinary leader who transforms a field through unconventional philanthropy. Morenike was the 2016 winner of the BMGF/Bayer 120 Under 40 awards, and received an Ingenuity Fund Grant in 2019, the same year that Whispa was chosen by the World Health Organisation Africa as one of the ” She is also a member of the Royal Commonwealth Society.
Morenike attended Obafemi Awolowo University and majored in Pharmacy. She just graduated from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health’s Leadership Accelerator and obtained a diploma in Global Health Leadership. She has also completed the theory component of Options For Sexual Health B.C.’s Sexual Health Educator Certification (SHEC) training.
As a female founder with over ten years of experience and success in the social marketing, regulatory affairs, and reproductive health supply chain sectors, she guides Whispa Health towards their vision of providing shame-free access to quality health information, products, and services to young people in Nigeria and around the world.
It is also their mission to reduce the number of young people who are discouraged from accessing sexual and reproductive health care due to myths, misconceptions, and biased health professionals.
Morenike believes that as an entrepreneur, you must be able to make quick judgments to keep ahead of the competition, respond quickly to changing market conditions, and reach your goals more quickly.
