Tim Isgitt, a veteran of more than 25 years in the public sector and a supporter of public and independent media, has been named the next CEO of the Public Media Company (PMC).
Isgitt assisted numerous nonprofit and philanthropic organizations with strategy, business, and program development as an independent consultant. He contributed to the creation and publication of “The Road for Local News,” as well as the production and programming of the most recent Summit on Local News. According to PMC, the Annenberg Foundation Trust organized a conference on revitalizing local news.
We are happy to welcome Tim to Public Media Company and look forward to working with him to lead the next phase of our goal to improve and grow public and independent media, said PMC board chair Fred Marienthal. The search process was competitive and featured several deserving candidates. Tim can lead PMC and its clients because of his background, breadth of expertise, strategic vision, and willingness to put in the necessary work.
Isgitt has held positions as managing director of Humanity United, senior vice president of the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and special advisor to the U.S. Department of State in the past. According to PMC, he also serves on the boards of The Fuller Project and Media Impact Funders.
Public media organizations serve the informational and cultural needs of their local communities daily, according to Isgitt. I’m honored that the Public Media Company board has selected me, and I’m looking forward to working with the PMC staff, as well as national organizations, nonprofit newsrooms, and stations across the nation, to increase their impact and vital service.
On July 17, Isgitt will assume control.
