Chanda Kochhar, Former ICICI Bank CEO Allegedly Received INR 64 Crore illegal gratification

According to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Chanda Kochhar received an illegal reward of INR 64 crore ($8.7 million) for her role in the Videocon loan case. Chanda Kochhar was the former CEO and MD of ICICI Bank. In its request for a special court to hear the case against Kochhar, her business partner Deepak Kochhar, Videocon Industries Chairman Venugopal Dhoot, their company’s chartered accountant Dattatraya Kadam, and five other people, the CBI made these claims.
According to the 11,000-page charge sheet filed in April, Kochhar, who served as the MD and CEO of ICICI Bank from May 2009 to January 2019, has been accused of colluding with the other defendants to get credit facilities for the Videocon Group.
