PM meets Chanel CEO Leena Nair; discusses skill development for artisans

On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Leena Nair, Global CEO of French luxury brand Chanel, to discuss methods to improve artisan skill development and increase the appeal of Khadi.
Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, invited Modi to attend the Bastille Day parade as the Guest of Honour.
“I got to meet Leena Nair, the global CEO of @CHANEL. Meeting someone of Indian descent who has established a name for themselves on the international scene is always a pleasure. The prime minister tweeted, “We had a terrific discussion about how to further promote skill development among craftsmen and to increase the popularity of Khadi.
Nair reported that the prime minister expressed a strong desire to encourage other women and girls in business after their encounter.
“Prime Minister is interested in ensuring that India is an investment hub for everyone,” she said.
The Modi government has taken several steps to boost the sale of Khadi products.
