Libby Day has been named the association’s new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), according to the Defence Teaming Centre (DTC). The day is a superb executive with extensive experience in complicated, globally regulated sectors on both a national and international level. She also has a track record of successfully directing member-based associations and achieving important corporate objectives, such as sophisticated stakeholder and advocacy management.

We are thrilled to welcome Libby to the DTC, said Lee Houlson, the chair of the DTC. She is the best candidate to position the DTC and its members to be prepared to address the needs of Defence in this new environment because of her broad experience, strategic attitude, and demonstrated leadership ability. As we begin this exciting road of growth and transformation for the defense industry, we are happy to partner with her, Houlson continued.

The Defence Strategic Review and the AUKUS announcements offer a chance to expedite the DTC’s work for the benefit of its members and other stakeholders, according to Day. “I am thrilled to contribute to the association’s continued success because I deeply identify with its continuous commitment to advancing and scaling Australia’s defense sector, member happiness, and quality.

“Harnessing cutting-edge technologies, such as artificial intelligence, robots, and cybersecurity, is essential for Australia’s Defence Force’s future. Day emphasized that Australia’s defense industry can develop the sovereign capability necessary to be at the forefront of the Defence landscape’s revolution by forming strategic alliances and utilizing local expertise. This will ensure the safety, security, and resilience of our nation and our allies.

Day serves as both an advisor to the Medical Technology Association of Australia and the Deputy Chair of the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of South Australia, a Graduate Diploma in Public Affairs from the University of Sydney, and is certified by the Australian Institute of Company Directors as a General Accredited Incorporated Company Director (GAICD).
