E-commerce platform Basket secures funding from BrewDog CEO

Basket, the pioneering e-commerce platform built by serial internet entrepreneurs Lex Deak and William Neill, has received significant finance from James Watt, the founder of BrewDog.
Basket received funds after participating in Watt’s ‘The Next Unicorn’ project, in which the beer pioneer teamed up with Crowdcube to invest in UK start-ups that potentially become the next British ‘unicorn’ – a business worth more than £1 billion. This ‘fit-for-the-21st-century’ investment approach will also allow members of the public to participate in the shortlisted enterprises on the same terms as James Watt.
Basket is a mobile app and browser plugin that allows users to save products from any online retailer into a single ‘basket’. The basket will then continue to check. prices automatically and notify people when there’s a price drop on the things they’ve got their eye on.
