Embassy Office Parks REIT, India’s premier listed Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT), has announced the appointment of Aravind Maiya as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective July 1, 2023. This transition comes as Vikaash Khdloya, the current CEO, steps down to pursue other interests after having served admirably in the role. Khdloya will continue to support the REIT as a Senior Advisor until the end of the year.
Aravind Maiya, who previously served as the Chief Financial Officer and played a significant role in Embassy REIT’s growth journey since its listing, expressed his enthusiasm about leading the next phase of growth. With over 22 years of experience, Maiya brings a wealth of expertise to the role, having previously held positions at Tata Realty.
Jitu Virwani, Chairman & Managing Director of Embassy Group, warmly welcomed Maiya’s return and expressed confidence in his ability to steer the REIT towards continued success. Virwani also extended gratitude to Vikaash Khdloya for his leadership during challenging times, particularly throughout the pandemic.
Tuhin Parikh, Head of Real Estate India at Blackstone, acknowledged Khdloya’s pivotal role in Embassy REIT’s growth and success since 2011. Parikh expressed optimism about the REIT’s future under Maiya’s leadership, citing its strong performance and robust business fundamentals.
Reflecting on his tenure, Vikaash Khdloya expressed pride in the accomplishments of Embassy REIT during his 12-year journey as CEO. He expressed confidence in the REIT’s ability to continue its growth trajectory and wished Maiya all the best in his new role.
