RapidFire Safety & Security, a consortium focusing on fire safety and security, has announced the addition of John Mackey, founder and CEO of The Mackey Group, to its board of directors. This move comes as RapidFire continues its growth trajectory under the leadership of founders Mike McLeod and Colin Harrold, in collaboration with private equity firm Concentric Equity Partners.

Bringing over 17 years of experience in the fire and life safety industry, Mackey’s expertise aligns well with RapidFire’s mission. With a background that includes senior leadership roles at ANSUL, Tyco Fire Products, and The Hiller Companies, Mackey’s insights are expected to contribute significantly to the consortium’s strategic direction.

He emphasized the importance of collaboration and the value of the team’s expertise in facilitating seamless transitions for contractor-owners during company sales.

Mackey’s involvement extends beyond his board position, with active roles in industry associations such as the National Association of Fire Equipment Distributors (NAFED) and the Fire Suppression Systems Association (FSSA). Additionally, his contributions to industry discussions through platforms like the TMG Fireside Chat Podcast and The TMG Blog underscore his commitment to advancing the field of fire protection.

Adam Lucas of Concentric Equity Partners expressed confidence in Mackey’s appointment, highlighting his extensive network, industry experience, and leadership qualities. As RapidFire continues to evolve, Mackey’s contributions are expected to play a pivotal role in guiding the company’s growth and development.

Originally from Chicago and a U.S. Navy veteran, Mackey’s journey in the industry reflects a dedication to excellence and innovation. His relocation to Fairhope, Ala., with his family underscores his commitment to pursuing professional goals while maintaining a strong personal foundation.

In summary, John Mackey’s appointment to the RapidFire board brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and industry insights, positioning the consortium for continued success and expansion in the fire safety and security sector.
